The Green/Eco Trumpet
Toys can be created from simple things. In the past, when children were not flooded with complex/expensive toys and games, creativity was more present in day by day children activities.
This article shows how a pumpkin leaf can be used to create a TRUMPET!
Parent supervision is needed (using a knife to cut the leaf from the plant)
What is needed
- Pumpkin plant
- cutting tool (knife, cutter, scissors)
Step 1 – choose a pumpkin leaf

Step 2 – cut the leaf close to the base

Step 3 – Clean the leaf vine of little thorns
With the side of the knife gently move along the vine, the little thorns are cleared. (see below video)
Step 4 – Cut the leaf from the vine (not too close on the vine, you don’t want a whole on the small side of the vine)

Step 5 – Cut a small opening on the vine (not too much)

Step 6 – Blow, be sure you are not closing the opening of the vine with your lips.
