We were very happy to find the Khan Academy course on Robots: https://www.khanacademy.org/science/electrical-engineering/robots#all-about-spout
It is a very well presented course and kids will enjoy working with parents on a small bug robot.
This is our second version, first one has been constructed with better and smaller parts (soon an article on first version).
