Coffee Cup RaspberryPi Case

There is no shortage of RaspberryPi cases. Plastic, wood, laser cut, hand made or  3D printed, all hobby shops are selling RaspberryPi cases.

There are some real nice free 3D model cases like this screw-less / snap fit customizable Raspberry Pi 4 Case

Thinking about technology at a coffee shop, I had this simple idea, that a paper coffee cup would be a good fit for a RaspberryPi device.

The example in the image above shows the evolved device for our previous project:  DIY Home Security System using Raspberry Pi

You can easily paint the coffee cup in any colour you like. Unfortunately our paint does not look that good, it is too dark, the cup was better looking without the paint.

To add some more stability to the RaspberryPi inside the coffee cup, we have used a foam board from dollar store.

After some cutting and trimming, the RaspberryPi board is stable inside the cup.

After the final cutting on the top to fit the usb and network connectors and on the side to fit the power and HDMI connectors, the result is a small computer you can use for coding, playing or a standalone device.

The drawback of this case is that it lacks proper ventilation for latest models of raspberry pi. Mostly it is a craft to do with your kids.
